libsuitesparse-metis-dbg software package provides collection of libraries for computations for sparse matrices, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libsuitesparse-metis-dbg
libsuitesparse-metis-dbg is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libsuitesparse-metis-dbg package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libsuitesparse-metis-dbg *
You will get with libsuitesparse-metis-dbg package name, version, architecture and description in a table
